The IAEG 2026 organisation team wants to offer you a great conference experience. The congress will open with a welcome reception, it will host the Young Engineering Geologists group party as well as a festive event. You will also be invited to join a guided geo-engineering visit of Delft historical center, organized for Women in Engineering Geology and their allies. In brief, you will have many opportunities to network!
Icebreaker / Welcome reception - Sunday 1 November - 18:00 - 19:30
On Sunday evening, we invite all congress delegates to the Icebreaker, taking place at TU Delft Aula Conference Center.
This informal gathering offers a great opportunity to meet fellow attendees, connect with speakers, and kick-off the congress in a relaxed setting. Drinks and light bites will be provided.
YEG Party - Monday 2 November -18:00 - 21:00
On Monday night, the Young Engineering Geologists invite to join their party! The YEG party will start in the Frans van Hasseltzaal (Aula) immediately after the late afternoon speaker sessions. The evening will kick off with food, drinks, and relaxed music. Then, there will be time to dance the night away! The party stops around 21:00, giving everyone plenty of time to get some sleep and prepare for the next day!
Participation to the YEG event is free of charge. Because spaces are limited, please register in advance. When all spots are filled, new sign-ups will be added to a waiting list.
WEG city tour - TBD
The Women in Engineering Geology group is excited to organize the Digging into Delft tour. One of our local geotechnical experts will take you on a walking tour through the city of Delft, where you will learn about the many challenges that come with building on soft soils.
The timing of the Digging into Delft tour will be communicated later. Participation to the tour is free of charge. Lunch will be provided to participants.
Festive evening - Wednesday 4 November - 18:30 - 22:00
After the regular program is concluded on Wednesday, we invite you to join us at Lijm & Cultuur for our festive evening! This old glue & gelatine factory has a unique atmosphere you are unlikely to forget. A walking dinner will allow you to enjoy everything this location has to offer. Expect diverse options for food, live music, and the opportunity to dance, chat and relax.
The Lijm & Cultuur centre is located at 10 minutes walking distance from the Aula, and transportation may be arranged for those who need it. The participation fee for the festive evening is € 50 for IAEG 2026 Congress participants and € 100 for external guests.
