Call for abstracts
The IAEG 2026 Organizing Committee invited authors to submit abstracts related to one or more of the congress themes.
The abstract submission deadline closed on 1 July 2025.
We are delighted with the number, scope and quality of the abstracts received, more than a year ahead of the congress.
Abstract Submission Instructions for Authors
Abstracts should have 150 to 250 words.
Abstracts may include one figure. The figure should have minimum resolution of 330 dpi.
Abstracts are submitted to the XV IAEG Abstract submission system (extended deadline: 01 July 2025).
Provide name, email and contact details of all authors.
If you are submitting multiple papers, please use the same email and contact details.
Select Keywords. If none of the provided keywords fit your paper, please select “Other and specify”.
Select a theme and topic. If none of the provided themes fit your paper, please select “Other and specify”.
Select a preferred presentation type (oral, poster, either, or none).
What to Expect after Submission of Abstracts
We will use the submitted abstracts to shape the congress program, defining sessions and allocating time to each.
We will ensure that your favorite engineering geology topics are well represented at IAEG 2026.
Note that abstracts submitted to a specific theme may be reassigned to another theme depending on the number of abstracts received for each theme.
If you have submitted an abstract and your abstract has been accepted, you will be invited to submit an optional extended abstract (max 4 pages) or full paper (max 10 pages) on 1 November 2025.
If you decide to submit an extended abstract or a full paper, with new results or case study by 1 February 2026, you will have an additional opportunity to secure an oral or poster presentation!
You will be notified of your presentation type—oral, poster, panel, invited, or publication only—no later than 15 July 2026.
Publications and Presentations contingent on Registration
Registration opens in February 2026, and early bird rates will be available until three months before the congress kicks off.
For each approved set of submission (abstract only, abstract + extended abstract, or abstract + full paper), one (co-)author must register, and a registered (co-)author cannot represent more than two submissions.
